Erman

**Erman** is a drop shoulder constructed pullover knit from the bottom up. The body is knit in the round to the underarm then separated and knit flat, in front and back pieces, to the shoulders. Shoulders are seamed then stitches picked up around the armholes. Sleeves are knit in the round to the cuff. The fit is oversized, shaping used only to create the curves of the neckline and taper of the sleeves. Two stranded colorwork designs, a plaid and linear design, alternate and are repeated on the front and back of the sweater. **Sizes** 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) Finished chest circumference: 33.75 (42.25, 50.75, 59.25) (67.75, 76.25, 84.75)” / 86 (107.5, 129, 150.5) (172, 193.5, 215) cm.  Recommended to be worn with 4-12” / 10-30.5 cm of positive ease at the chest. **Gauge** 17 stitches & 19 rows = 4” / 10 cm in colorwork, worked both flat and in the round, on size US 8– 5mm needles, blocked. **Notions** Tapestry needle, stitch markers, stitch holder or scrap yarn. **Yarn** Brooklyn Tweed, Shelter (100% American Targhee-Columbia Wool; 50g / 140 yards / 128 meters) **Color A–** Fossil:  4 (4, 5, 6) (7, 8, 9) skeins  Or approximately 445 (550, 660, 800) (925, 1080, 1210) yards / 410 (505, 605, 735) (850, 990, 1110 meters of Worsted weight yarn. **Color B–** Cast Iron:  4 (5, 5, 6) (7, 9, 10) skeins  Or approximately 465 (575, 690, 835) (965, 1130, 1265) yards / 430 (530, 635, 765) (885, 1035, 1160) meters of Worsted weight yarn. **Color C–** Hayloft:  1 (1, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins  Or approximately 105 (125, 150, 185) (210, 250, 275) yards / 100 (115, 140, 170) (195, 230, 255) meters of Worsted weight yarn. **Alternative yarn suggestion-** De Rerum Natura, Gilliatt (100% wool; 100g / 273 yds / 250 meters in colors Poivre Blanc, Ebene and Genet. **Needles** US 8– 5mm circular needle with a cable length of at least 32” / 80 cm (or needle size to obtain gauge)- for Main Fabric and Sleeves. One extra needle in size US 8– 5mm for bind-off. US 7– 4.5mm circular needle with a cable length of at least 32” / 80 cm (or one needle size smaller than size used to obtain gauge)- for Neckline and Sleeve Cuffs This pattern uses the magic loop technique for the neckline, sleeves and cuffs.  Double-pointed needles or smaller circumference cable lengths can be substituted.
