**This pattern uses a combination of stranded knitting and duplicate stitch to create the foxes in this pattern.** Three video tutorials are linked in this pattern: two for techniques that will help with your stranded knitting tension, and one for how I do duplicate stitch. Other colorwork tips are included in the pattern as well. ----- This pattern can be adjusted for length: it has six main sections plus an extra seventh section of leaves in case longer socks are needed. Five sections may be knit if shorter socks are needed. ----- While I would say that most of my pattern ideas start with the yarn, I actually already had the idea of falling leaves surrounding a sitting fox before I saw this yarn collection from Moonglow Yarn Co. I couldn’t believe how perfect this set was for my idea! While creating this pattern, I of course decided to make the designing more difficult for myself by adding more foxes. What ensued was a lot of designing, knitting, redesigning, at least a week of pondering my decision to make foxes when I can barely draw in the first place, more knitting, ripping, redesigning again, more ripping, and eventually enough knitting to end up with the socks you see here. (Drawing on a grid that is small enough to fit on socks is harder than you might think.) The foxes are made with four colors of yarn: the light MC plus three CCs in light, medium, and dark colors. I recommend stranding two colors (the MC and one of the CCs) and using duplicate stitch to add the details of the foxes with the other two colors, however, you may choose to strand more than two colors at a time if you wish (although this will require extra yarn and result in a thicker sock). While knitting this, remember to take it one section, one fox, and one stitch at a time! ----- **Sizes:** S (M, L) to fit foot circumferences 7-7.5 (8-8.5, 9-9.5)” or about 18-19 (20-22, 23-24) cm **Yarn:** MC: 463 yds (423m) or about 100g of fingering weight yarn CC: at least 6 x 10g miniskeins or leftovers of fingering weight yarn consisting of about 46 yds (42 m) per 10g mini *Please note that if you choose to strand the same color in more than one section of the sock that you will need extra. However, 10g will work stranding each color for one section per sock, plus duplicate stitching of the fox details in the other sections.* **Needles:** US size 1 / 2.25mm **Notions:** Stitch markers, tapestry needle **Gauge:** 36 stitches and 42 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stranded colorwork in the round
