Size guide
When choosing your size, it is recommended to measure the circumference of the largest part of your upper body including the upper part of your arms. Compare this measurement to “Circumference at the bottom” stated in the measurements of the poncho.
If you are a beginner, you can omit the short rows in the neck and knit in the round. In that case, follow the instructions for the novice edition, which is worked entirely in stockinette stitch.
The detailed edition includes short rows in the neck, creating a neckline that is deeper at the front than at the back, which gives a great shape to the neckline. Apart from this difference, the two versions are identical.
Construction note, detailed edition (in the picture)
Plain Yoke Poncho is knitted top-down with a raised back neck, created using German short rows (GSR). This means that when working the short rows, you work back and forth in
stockinette stitch (knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side). Apart from the short rows, the poncho is worked in knit stitches only. The yoke is shaped with increases.
Construction note, novice edition
Plain Yoke Poncho is knitted top-down. Everything is worked in stockinette stitch,
meaning the poncho is worked in knit stitches only. The round yoke is shaped with increases. The only difference compared to the "detailed edition” is that ”novice edition” is worked the same way both in the front and back in the neck section.
