Aurelia Crown

This seamless, double sided knitted crown makes a wonderful gift for the kids in your life (or for yourself!) This Crown is an intermediate knitter’s joy with so many interesting parts. There are 7 sizes available, so this sweet crown will fit kids as young as 12 months, all the way up to adult sizing (for the kids at heart, or the dress-up parties!). It requires between 30 (XS) and 46 (Adult) grams of 4-ply/Fingering Yarn. The project is worked by casting all the edge Stitches onto cable needles using Judy’s Magic Cast-On method, before transferring half to a holding yarn to be resumed once the inside side is completed. Join in the Round and work whilst creating the crown shaping with a simple yarn-over dart. Leave the remaining Stitches on hold, resume the cast-on Sts to repeat for the other side beginning with a row of popcorn bobbles and then work reverse stocking St motif until the outer side is completed. The live Sts at the bottom of each side are then joined together using a third needle; and are finally bound-off using an I-cord cast-off which creates the crown base.
