Toddler Harvest Loafers

Time to finish a pair: about 40 minutes Stitches Used: Magic Ring, Chain, Single Crochet, Single Crochet 2 together, Half Double Crochet, Double Crochet, Treble Crochet, Puff Stitch Yarn: Super Bulky #6 weight yarn (Malabrigo 'Rasta', Lionbrand 'Wool Ease Thick & Quick', or something similar) 30-70 yards in total Hook: 6.5 mm hook Finishing materials: 16" of 1/4" elastic, or 50" of leather/cotton lacing, 40" of thick cord or leather + bead Extra materials for suede option: natural suede, sheep shearling, leather hole puncher, low oder contact cement, 2.5mm crochet hook, 5mm crochet hook Notions: 3 stitch markers, needle for weaving in ends, scissors As in all of my patterns, it includes instructions for crochet soles as well as templates and video/photo tutorial help for suede/sheep shearling soles. Your choice in how to make them! Video links attached in all steps for the extra help! This pattern includes instructions for Toddler size 5 (4.75" sole), Toddler size 6 (5.25" sole), Toddler size 7 (5.5" sole), Toddler size 8 (6" sole), Toddler size 9 (6.5" sole), and Toddler/Small Child size 10/11 (7" sole). These also pair well with my "CLASSIC" finished suede soles that can be purchased in my Etsy Shop if you are nervous about cutting and preparing your own natural soles. This pattern calls for any Super Bulky #6 yarn. I like to use Malabrigo "Rasta" or Lionbrand 'Wool Ease Thick & Quick", but my tester also used Bernat "blanket yarn". You will start by crocheting the Toe Topper separately. Next you work on the sole (either suede or crocheted) and then will attach the Toe Topper to the Body of the loafer. Finishing options are included. The pattern accounts for an elastic ankle opening, but includes brief lacing or faux fur finishing instructions.
