ABOUT THE PATTERN AND DESIGN Worked in 3 colors and with a unique stitch combination, the Triptych Bandana has an intriguing texture that makes for an engaging and fun make. The bandana is worked bottom-up and as one piece. It is made with fingering weight yarn and a 5 mm Tunisian crochet hook, creating a light and airy fabric with lots of drape. SKILLS USED You should know how to Tunisian crochet, read a crochet pattern, be comfortable with the basic stitches, know how to count stitches, know how to count rows, know how to increase in the back bump, know how to bind off, know how to work a border, and how to wet block. All other stitches and techniques are explained in the pattern. This pattern is not recommended for beginners. SIZING This pattern comes with instructions for 2 sizes: S/M (L/XL). The sizes are meant to fit a head circumference of 20-22.5 (22.5-25) in [51.5-57 (57-63.5) cm]. MATERIALS Yarn: Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 175 yds [160 m] / 1.8 oz [50 g] (other suggested yarns include Paintbox Cotton 8/4, Drops Safran, and Friends Cotton 8/4, but most fingering weight yarns should work) Hook: H/5 mm Tunisian crochet hook or any other hook needed to obtain the gauge and a 5 mm crochet hook for the border Other: Stitch markers, darning needle, scissors, tape measure AMOUNT OF YARN NEEDED S/M: 70 yds [65 m] / 0.7 oz [20 g] of each of the 3 colors (so 60 g in total) M/L: 90 yds [80 m] / 0.9 oz [25 g] of each of the 3 colors (so 75 g in total) SAMPLE DETAILS The first sample was made in size S/M with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in the colors Dark Red (059), Coral (051), and Royal Blue (076).
