No limits. --------------- **Tessella** is a bold mosaic-knit shawl that plays with contrast, rhythm, and geometry. Slipped stitches create a striking zigzag motif that shifts across the fabric like echoing waves or interlocking tiles. It’s rhythmic, addictive to knit, and easy to wear. The shawl is worked on the bias in an asymmetrical triangular shape using two contrasting colors. Repeats are short, easy to memorize, and use only one color at a time. No purling required! I promise you’ll enjoy knitting it. The pattern is written to use most of two skeins of yarn, but the size is easily adjustable by adding or removing repeats (you’ll need more yarn if you go bigger). Instructions are provided in both written and charted form. ----------------- **YARN:** * (MC) **[Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply][1]** (100% SW Merino, 400 yd /110g) in McHales - 1 skein * (CC) **[Junction Fiber Mills Making Tracks Lite][2]** (100% American wool, 200 yd /50g) in Sublime Skies - 2 skeins Or **[Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering][3]** (75% Superwash Merino, 20% Cashmere, 5% Nylon, 440 yd /115g) * (MC) - Candied Ginger * (CC) - Going Steady Or any similar weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors **NEEDLES:** US #5 / 3.75 mm (or as required to get the gauge) **NOTIONS:** darning needle. **GAUGE:** 20 sts x 40 rows = 4” in pattern.
