Summerhood

Summer feeling in a Northern town … but the evenings often get a bit chilly, so you need a light sweater to throw over. “Summerhood“ is a striped summery hoodie (a hooded sweater) with 2/3 sleeves. Main needle size is **2,75mm.** (2,5mm for hem and cuff.) Gauge: **28 sts x 40 rows** in Stockinette after blocking. Approx. **1400/ 1500/ 1600/ 1700/ 1800 m of a Fingering weight yarn** needed (distributed evenly between colors C1 + C2). For my sample, I have used **[Skudderia Egypt][1]** (50% Alpaca, 25% Silk, 25% Linen; 400m/ 100g). *For the extra chilly summer days and nights (and for loose knitters), I have calculated a thicker version with a gauge of **24 sts x 34 rows**, worked with needle **3,25mm** (3,0mm for the edges), preferably with long sleeves, for which I recommend **[Skudderia Semilla][2]** (100% Wool, 320m/ 100g).* The hoodie should be worn with 5-10cm ease at bust. **Overview: These are the steps** to work the hoodie, top-down: • Step 1: Provisionally cast on sts and work hood in 4-row-stripes, starting at the crown. Close hood. • Step 2: Seamlessly continue with upper body, shaped by Raglan increases. After finishing the front neck, work in rounds. • Step 3: Separate into body and sleeves and work lower body in stripes, with side panels in Broken Seed stitch and folded hem (or hem in Broken Seed stitch). • Step 4: Work sleeves in stripes to 2/3 (or desired) length, with folded (or Broken Seed) cuff. **Errata:** Stitch count for size XL in setup row of step 2a should be: 6+13+3+6+3+49+3+**6**+3+13+6 =111 [1]: https://www.skudderia.de/products/egypt [2]: https://www.skudderia.de/collections/semilla
