In fact, I’d go as far as to say they’re defining the 2025 aesthetic. Once considered a second-thought piece, the tank top has never been more appreciated. Influencers are building entire outfits around them, and high-end brands are releasing their own covetable takes on this timeless staple. My version? A classic, timeless top with a bit of a twist, perfect for a low-key summer outfit. Loulou is a fitted tank, knit in a warm-weather-friendly cotton yarn that offers comfort and breathability. **THE PATTERN** Loulou is a bottom-up, seamless sleeveless top. The top starts with the bottom hem and it is worked in the round up to the sleeve split. The fronts and backs are worked flat, with neckline and shoulder shaping. Shoulders are joined with a three needle bind off for a perfect finish, then stitches are picked up to knit the armhole bands and neckline. It’s available in a wide range of sizes, with a finished bust circumferences from 28 to 60 inches (71 to 152 cm) and it can be used with up to 4 inches (10 cm) of negative ease, ensuring a great fit for everyone. **SIZES** 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9) Finished bust circumference 28 (32, 36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56, 60)" 71 (81, 91.5, 102, 112) (122, 132, 142, 152) cm Recommended ease: choose a size with approx. 6–0" (15–0 cm) of negative ease. See schematics with all finished measurements at the end of the pattern. **YARN** Sport weight yarn, approximate amount: 540 (600, 680, 750, 820) (900, 940, 1000, 1100) yards 490 (550, 620, 685, 750) (823, 860, 915, 1005) meters Shown in Rosários 4 Regata (100% Cotton; 299 yds (273 m) / 100 g); 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) (4, 4, 4, 4) skeins in colorway 07. **NEEDLES** US 4 – 3.5 mm and US 6 – 4.0 mm suitable for working in the round (including small circumferences). Needle size is suggested only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge. **NOTIONS** Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, and tapestry needle. **GAUGE** 20 sts and 27 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch in the round on US 6 (4 mm) needles, after blocking. Before you measure, please take the time to wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your top. **CONSTRUCTION NOTES** Top is knitted seamless from the bottom up. Front and back are divided in the underarms and worked flat to shoulders. The shoulders are joined using 3 needle bind off. Last, the collar and armhole bands are pick up and knit around.
