Since adding handspinning into my fiber arts toolbox, all I want to do is create designs with handspun in mind! This special 2-skein shawl is designed to show off a sampler skein—or any colors you choose. I created this handspun yarn from a fiber swap at a retreat I attended in 2024. Each spinner brought a 4 oz braid of fiber and split it into pieces so that each participant got the same mix of colors. We all took our fiber home and spun it up, creating related but unique skeins of our own. I paired my mash-up skein with a coordinating tonal in a similar finished yarn weight and proudly created this design! **ANALOGOUS** encapsulates my feelings about this entire spinning and knitting process: my work is forever related to others from this same mash-up spin yet bears its own character, too. This design is completely reversible! Shown here in 2 colors, it would also look great with more colors, an accent stripe, or even a contrast icord bind-off. Finished size is adjustable based on yarn amounts available. **YARN – COLOR 1** Viking Fiber Company Lofn Sport, 90% Shaniko wool, 10% Romney, 370 yd / 338 m per 100 g or similar sport weight yarn, 1 skein. **YARN – COLOR 2** 2-ply handspun yarn, approximately 18 WPI (wraps per inch), mixed fibers. Use any heavy fingering to sport weight yarn you prefer for this design. To achieve a similar look to the sample, choose a tonal yarn for C1 and a gradient or long color change yarn for C2. *Sample yarn: C1: colorway Odin’s Ravens, 351.5 yd / 321 m (95 g) C2: various fibers, 313 yd / 286 m (103 g)* **FINISHED DIMENSIONS** Wingspan: 64” / 163 cm Depth: 24” / 61 cm *Working with a different amount of yarn? No worries!
