This bandana-shaped cowl is worked completely in the round, making it a meditative and portable project. A subtle geometric motif—built entirely from knits and purls—gives it a tailored, polished look without any fuss. PLUS it's designed to act as a wearable swatch for the [Tryst Sweater][1]. Whether you’re bundling up for a windswept walk along the shore or slipping on a little warmth for a cool summer evening the Tryst Cowl fits right in. With its easy shape and thoughtful texture, this is a cowl you’ll wear all year—tucked under a winter coat, layered over a tee in spring, or thrown on for a dash to town. It's simple, beautiful, and made for life up north. **YARN** Lavender Lune Yarn Co., Whipped Bulky (70% Baby Alpaca, 23% recycled nylon and 7% merino wool) 284 yards / 100 grams 1 skein - Colorway used for sample: “Walker” (denim/blue) The sample was knit using 72g (approximately 204 yards) of a bulky alpaca-blend yarn with excellent drape. When substituting, choose a worsted to bulky weight yarn with similar fiber content for comparable results. Purchase 225 - 250 yards (or 80-90g of a yarn with similar yards/gram ratio) to ensure sufficient yardage. In the second sample shown, I used the Wandering Flocks Superwash Worsted. **GAUGE** 18 stitches and 30 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette & Textured Stitch Pattern worked in the round on body gauge needles, after blocking. **NEEDLES** US 6 / 4 mm 16" / 40 cm circular (for neckband) US 7 / 4.5 mm 24" / 60 cm circular (for body and hem) Or size needed to obtain gauge Note: You may want a needle half of the size of the gauge needle for working the bind off. **SIZE** Top Edge Circumference: 23.25" / 59 cm Depth (neckline to point): 10" / 25.5 cm Bottom Edge Circumference: 34" / 86.5 cm [1]: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tryst-sweater
