the panama sweater vest is a fun, quick and beautiful vest with its basketweave texture! you can crochet it in neutral colors for a timeless classic or choose adventurous bright colors for a statement piece. whether you’re a first-time vest crocheter or a long-time vest enthusiast, this simple vest is easy to pair with button-downs, t-shirts, blouses, high-collared sweaters and much more! this gender-neutral pattern is made-to measure, meaning you can get your own ideal fit. Worked bottom-up in worsted weight yarn, this vest is also a wonderfully quick crochet project! **OVERVIEW:** Language - English Level - Beginner and Adventurous Beginner Techniques Used - chain, single crochet, treble crochet, front and back post, half double crochet, slip stitch, sew together, bind off. Made in 2 panels, borded and ribbed along the edge of the vest. Contains photos of the steps as well as video-tutorial for the stitches! **SIZING:** The pattern is made-to-measure, which means it doesn’t count stitches and rows as much as it’ll ask you to keep a measuring tape near-by and use that as reference. Size modelled in reference photos - L/XL **MATERIALS REQUIRED:** Yarn: I used WoolPaca by BettaKnit (50 gr = 100 m / 109 yd per ball. 50% Baby Alpaca + 50% Wool) You can use a yarn that is similar in length and weight and can be crocheted with 4.5-5.5mm hooks, I suggest choosing a DK/Worsted (Light/Medium) yarn.
