Palazzo Shawl

This (almost) **any yarn, any gauge** kind of project was inspired by the abundance of details in Italian architecture and is a pure celebration of texture. Estonian braids, nupps, slipped and wrapped stitches are accompanied by stockinette for a balanced flowy fabric. The edges are polished with built-in i-cord that is continued in the i-cord bind off as well. The tips can be decorated with playful knit bobbles. **Instructions are both charted and written out, with video tutorials for tricky techniques provided.** The shawl is worked from the tip with increases along one side as a right triangle. Roughly 200g of yarn will give you a shawl of a decent size; feel free to use less or more. Numbers below are a minimum required for you to be able to tie the shawl once finished - Fingering weight: at least 450yds - Sport weight: at least 400yds - DK weight: at least 350 yds - Worsted weight: at least 300 yds - Solid or semi-solid colors will show textures best - Sample shawl: Sonata from Noro (35% cotton, 25% viscose, 20% silk, 20% polyamide; 393yds / 359m, 3.5oz / 100g), color 31, Sport weight gauge **Needles and Gauge** - The gauge is not important for this pattern. Below you can see suggestions provided in stockinette, blocked.
