Estel Cowl

For the LOTR fans, Estel is the Sindarin word for hope, and the name Aragorn was raised with to hide his lineage. I see both flowers and stars in this design, both of which bring me hope. This pattern is suitable for the knitter with experience reading a chart and stranded colorwork. Cowl measures approximately 8 inches tall and 23 inches around. I used 2 skeins of Midnight and 1 skein of Aqua. Please note that if you would like to knit the matching [Estel Mittens][3] and [Estel Tam][4] you will need a total of 4 skeins of Midnight and 3 skeins of Aqua. You can knit coordinating socks, too!
