The cowl is knit flat sideways and then seamed up the back of the neck after blocking. This pattern utilizes mosaic knitting and garter stitch. Only one color is worked at a time. The pattern can be worked from the written instructions or the charts. Choosing colors: * C1 and C2 - good value contrast, * C3 and C4 - good value contrast, * C2 and C4 - just good color contrast. Use your phone camera with BW filter to check the [value contrast][1] The pattern could be worked in 2 colors only (choose yarns that have good value contrast). Instructions for C1 and C3 are worked in one color, C2 and C4 in another. ----------------------------- **Yarn**: [**Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply Toes**][2] (100% SW Merino, 133 yd / 38 g) in 4 colors: * C1 -130 yd, * C2 - 120 yd, * C3 - 55 yd, * C4 - 100 yd. Or any fingering weight yarn in 4 colors with the same yardage. **Needles:** US 4 (3.5 mm) **Notions:** darning needle, 1 stitch marker **Gauge:** 23 stitches and 48 rows = 4” in main pattern, blocked.
