I was inspired by that to create LUCKY scarf in honor of the Lunar New Year in 2025. Thus, the basic cable pattern that represents the wave and the Coin Chain lace stitch pattern have been selected for this design. Those stitches are really simple to knit, the scarf knits up incredibly rapid and joyfully. Besides, it brings a great meaning, making it an ideal first project for the new year.* **S I Z E - G U I D E** The scarf can be made in two sizes S (M), which differ in length only. The scarf looks great with a scarf ring and is a quick knitting present. You may tie it casually around your neck and wear it with any outfit. * Width: approx. 7 cm / 2.75 inches * Length: approx. 90 (110) cm / 35 (44) inches **M A T E R I A L S** **Yarn:** Holding together a strand of lace-weight yarn AND a strand of kidsilk mohair. Consumption: 64 (78) m / 70 (85) yards each. **Needles:** 4.0 mm [US 6] **Gauge:** 21 sts = 6.5 cm / 2.5 inches **Sample show in:** * Alize Lanagold (49% wool, 51% acrylic | 800 m / 875 yards per 100 gram skein), colorway #01 * Drops Kid Silk (75% mohair, 25% silk | 210 m / 230 yards per 25 gram skein), colorway # 01 off white **Notions:** Tapestry needle **N O T E S** * You can use any yarn you have on hand that gives you the desired width and that you feel comfortable wearing around your neck. * You don’t need to do actual swatching here. Simply use your yarn and preferred needles to knit the scarf according to rows 1-28 of the chart on page 3. Then, check to see if the width meets your needs (suggested: approx. 6.5-9 cm / 2.5-3.5 inches). If it is, keep working; if not, change the size of your needle to get your desired width, and start again. Weigh and measure the length of your piece, estimate if your yarn is enough or not. * Since the scarf only requires a small amount of yarn, it’s a good way to use yarn that’s left over from knitting socks and other items. Let your imagination run wild and use US 6-7 needles to play with own yarn to determine the best choice for you. * The scarf can be worn on either side.
