Let It Snowflake! 2025

I originally published this pattern in 2020. Many of you liked it and made it, but it wasn't an easy pattern to follow and some of you struggled with it. So, this year, I decided to do a complete overhaul of the pattern to ensure that everyone who wants to make it can successfully do so. **The 2025 version of the pattern includes:** * Both chart and written instruction for the middle section * Detailed written instructions * [A video tutorial showing how I knit the center][1] * [A video tutorial showing how I knit the points][2] * [A video tutorial showing how I block and stiffen my snowflakes][3] * Видео-урок по вязанию снежинки на русском: [Снежинка спицами. Часть 2][6] **Materials** • Any yarn weight • 4 dpns in size recommended for the yarn • circular needle in corresponding size or scrap yarn • Tapestry needle (for weaving in the ends) **Notes:** 1. **Size** will vary depending on yarn and needles chosen. The sample made from worsted weight yarn and US 5 (3.75mm) needles is about 9" (23cm) point to point. The sample made with #10 Crochet cotton and US 0 (2mm) needle is about 6" (15 cm)point to point. 2. **Lacy points**: The points of the snowflake are formed by a series of cast ons/bind offs, otherwise known as picots. After completing each sequence of cast ons/bind offs, place the last stitch back to your LH needle before you begin the next sequence. 3. **Stiffening**: Block out your finished snowflake. You will also need to stiffen it if you want to use it as a hanging ornament. Use any stiffener you prefer. 4. **Note on Rnd 7**: Round 7 is a bind off round that shapes the legs (points) of the snowflake. In this round, after binding off the required number of stitches always REMEMBER to place the stitch from RH needle back to LH needle before casting on new stitches. 5. **Tutorials**: For help with the pattern, I recommend that you watch the tutorials I listed above and in the pattern notes, they will assist you in understanding the pattern. 6.
