A garland of eight small triangle flags, worked flat from the point up with a slipped-stitch edge, then joined edge-to-edge along the top with a single applied I-cord that also forms the hanging ties at each end. No sewing required. **Materials** ● 1 skein (50g / 137yds) DK-weight, self-striping yarn, such as Adriafil Knitcol (100% superwash merino wool) — one skein makes one 8-flag banner at a tight gauge ● 24″ (60cm) circular needle, 4mm (US 6) ● 3.75mm (US 5) double-pointed needles, for the I-cord border ● Blunt tapestry needle, for weaving in ends **Gauge** Exact gauge is not critical — the flag pattern is self-checking. At 22 sts on the needle, the piece should measure approximately 9cm (3.5″) wide including the slipped-stitch edges. If your piece runs narrower or wider than that at 22 sts, adjust needle size slightly and continue; the finished flag size will scale accordingly. Finished measurements of each cast off flag approximately 4" across top edge x 4.5" down side edge. Note: the yardage above assumes a fairly tight gauge. If you knit noticeably looser than that, one skein may not stretch across all 8 flags — plan on picking up a second skein, or reducing the total number of flags in your banner to fit the yarn you have.
