Wooly Snowman + Snowball

[Wooly Snowman + Snowball Kits are available here!][1] I love the idea of a furry wooly snowman and snowball. The application of the cut loop stitch to a snowman and snowball is perfection here. I feel like the wooly fabric gives life and movement to both of these characters. This is true of actual snow, it’s always moving and changing. The loop stitch can be tedious but it’s only every other round and it’s only for a few inches. You can do it! Once you get the hang of it you’ll get into a rhythm. The feel of these toys is impossible to describe until you have made one yourself to hold in your own hands. It’s just a lovely wooly experience and let’s face it, they are cute!  The snowy season is short and it’s one of my faves. I celebrate snow and winter year-round at my house and you can too with this wooly snowy pair. I promise that anyone of any age would love to receive a Wooly Snowman and Snowball from you.  **Finished Measurements** **Snowman:** About 6 1/2 inches from the bottom to the top of the head (not including hat).  **Snowball:** About 3 1/2 inches from the bottom to the top. **Yarn** Wisconsin Woolen Spun Worsted by Barrett Wool Co., 100% American wool (250 yards / 100 grams); 1 skein in Birch (creamy white). Home Worsted Weight by Barrett Wool Co., 100% American wool. Small amounts in Bear (brown), Big Woods (deep green), Cheery (dark rosy pink), and Peppercorn (charcoal black) for face and button embroidery.  **Approximate amounts used in grams:** Snowman and stripes in hat: About 37 grams of Wisconsin Woolen Spun Worsted in Birch was used. **Stick Arms:** About 2.5 grams of Home Worsted in Bear was used. **Scarf:** About 10 grams of Home Worsted in Big Woods was used. **Stripey Hat:** About 10 grams in total in Birch and Big Woods was used. **Pom:** About 1 gram of Cheery was used.  **Snowball:** About 25 grams of Birch was used. **Legs and feet:** About 4 grams of Bear was used.  Eyes, mouth and buttons: About 2 yards of Peppercorn is plenty. **Needles** US size 6 / 4.0 mm, set of 4 double-pointed needles OR size to obtain gauge For scarf only: US size 7 / 4.5mm, 24-inch circular needles.  **Gauge** 5.5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch For scarf only: 5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch **Materials** Yarn needle Locking stitch markers Fiberfill Scissors - preferably sharp and pointy One 2-inch square of orange wool felt.
