Billie

Billie is a triangular shawl that begins with just a few stitches and grows to a large wedge, perfect for wrapping around your neck for warmth or draping gracefully for style. I originally wrote this pattern for The Fuzzy Goat’s, “Box of Goats” consisting of 10 gram each of 15 colors of Emma’s Practically Perfect sock. The pattern was reknit for release in Emma’s Hella Hank but I kept the directions for the color changes (each color is faded in) in case you’d like to knit a scrappy shawl. You can use more or less than 15 colors. Try it with 10, 20g minis by skipping every other color change and working in the remaining colors as directed at the end or with just one color (as shown) by ignoring the color change directions all together and just working each row. **Yarn** 600 yards of a fingering weight yarn. **Shown in** Emma's Yarn Hella Hank, 80% Super Wash Merino, 10% Cashmere & 10% Nylon, 150 grams/ 600 yards. In the color way, "Cheaper Than Therapy" and in Emma's Yarn Practically Perfect Sock in The Fuzzy Goat Box of Goats 2024. (15) 41 yard/ 10g Teeny Tinys of 80% Merino, 20% nylon. **Needles and Notions** US Size 6 (4mm): 32 inch circular needle or size needed for gauge. 1 progress keeper or split ring marker (optional) Darning needle digital scale (optional) **Gauge** 18 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette, after blocking. Gauge isn't crucial as long as you like the look of the fabric you are producing.
