Please note: Purchasing the collection offers a saving. Refunds cannot be given if you purchase the patterns individually and then wish to purchase the collection as an ebook. Ripples on a lake, sun glinting on the moving water, losing yourself in the depths of water and time. Dreams of yesteryears and visions of tomorrow. Lake of Destiny is a top down, crescent shaped shawl worked in a sport or fingering weight yarn. The main body can be repeated to enlarge the shawl and the border finishes with a scalloped edge like ripples on a lake edge. **REQUIREMENTS** **Size**: As written – 60” (153cm) wide, 21.5” (55cm) deep before and 70” (178cm) wide, 18” (46 cm) deep after blocking, though the shawl is easily enlarged or reduced. Measurements taken using DyeforYarn MoFluff. Note that measurements will differ depending on yarn, tension, blocking etc and these are therefore given as a guide only. **Yarn**: 2 skeins of DyeforYarn MoFluff (350m/100g,) Skein Queen Ripple (350m/100g), Handmaiden Maidenhair (350m/100g). Alternatively, this would look fabulous in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, DyeforYarn Tussah Silk Fingering Weight or almost any fingering weight yarn. I used 150g of MoFluff for mine, as written, so there should be plenty of yarn for you to enlarge your shawl should you wish to do so. **Circular Needles**: 3.75mm (US5), 4mm (US 6) and 5mm (US8) about 1m in length or needles to create a pleasing fabric – your fabric should not be too dense and should have good drape. **You will also need**: Just under 350 Miyuki size 5 triangular beads or size 6 seed beads, a 1mm crotat hook or 0.75mm crochet hook, stitch markers, needle (for weaving in ends), blocking pins and mats. **Gauge**: Gauge is not overly important as this is a shawl. It is better to knit a swatch to ensure that you are happy with your tension and the drape of your fabric. However, the gauge achieved was 24 sts to 4” before and 20 sts to 4” after blocking – measurement taken over the main body pattern of Chart Two. *You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern.** **The pattern is both fully written and charted.** **If you like my designs please join us in the [Boo Group][2] where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.** **Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the [KnitCompanion Store][3], for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up. ** A huge thank you goes to my wonderful Test Team: - [chinaowl](/people/chinaowl) [debbiels50](/people/debbiels50) [neady31](/people/neady31) [numptytoo](/people/numptytoo) [thyme](/people/thyme) [Amelia320](/people/Amelia320) [Ruthtqp](/people/Ruthtqp) [2]: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/boo [3]: https://www.create2thrive.com/product-category/kcdesigns/?filtering=1&filter_designer=boo-knits
