Autumn Rain Brioche Cardigan

A short, oversized brioche crochet cardigan in a defined leaf motif, worked from side-to-side in slip stitched short rows. The cropped cardigan features full, gathered sleeves, a hood, ribbed cuffs and trim, and even a secret pocket. The pattern repeat used throughout is easy to memorize, and best of all, a lot of fun to do! Many photographs and notes are included to make this pattern easy to follow, and as with all my patterns, I am here and willing to help. SUPPLIES 7 Skeins of Cygnet Colour Rush DK in Raindrop 6.5mm/K crochet hook 5.5mm/H crochet hook Tapestry needle 3-4 Stitch markers Wine (optional) SIZING The oversized cardigan is designed in one size, but designed in such a way that it works for a variety of sizes and shapes (for example, it will fit up to at least a 52" bust with ease; however, the cardigan is pictured to show how it fits on a size 8/10 mannequin). The measurements are as follows: Waistband including lapel edging: 46” Back width from dropped shoulder underarm to underarm: 33” Sleeve length from edge of drop shoulder to cuff: 12” Length: 22” STITCHES There are no complicated stitches, but you should be familiar with: CH - Chain stitch BLSL - Back Loop Slip Stitch BLSC - Back Loop Single Crochet FLSL Front Loop Slip Titch FLSC Front Loop Single Crochet SL Slip Stitch Mattress Stitch Whip Stitch GAUGE Because this is such a difficult stitch pattern to gauge, and because the secret pocket includes all the row variations in the pattern, the pocket itself makes an excellent gauge swatch, with the added benefit of not going to waste. The pocket instructions appear at the end of the pattern, and the finished pocket should measure 5" wide and 4.5" tall. Keep in mind that because this is an intentionally oversized cardigan, you will likely have some leeway with gauge.
