Flaptastic Worsted

The original flaptastic was knitted with fingering weight yarn but some of you have requested a heavier weight version, so here it is! Flaptastic Worsted is a cute hat featuring a double layer brim with earflaps. The inner brim is knitted in ribbing for elasticity, while the rest of the hat is knitted in stockinette stitch to preserve the simple and effortless look. The earflaps are created with german short rows, so no need to pick up stitches to work them afterwards! The brim is folded towards the inside and the cast-on edge is knitted together with the live stitches to secure the two layers together. Finish the hat with a tiny i-cord, a knotted i-cord or no i-cord at all ; all these options are detailed in the pattern. With a size range from newborn to adult, you can knit one for everybody! Flaptastic Worsted est une tuque présentant un rebord à double couche muni d'oreillettes. L'intérieur du rebord est tricoté en côtes pour l'élasticité alors que l'extérieur est en jersey, afin de préserver le look simple et sans effort. Les oreillettes sont tricotées en rangs raccourcis, alors nul besoin de relever des mailles pour les tricoter! Le rebord est replié vers l'intérieur et les mailles du montages sont tricotées avec les mailles ouvertes afin de replier les deux couches de la bordure ensemble. Finissez le bonnet avec une mini-cordelette, une cordelette nouée ou aucune cordelette du tout ; toutes ces options sont détaillées dans le patron. Avec un éventail de tailles allant de nouveau-né à adulte, vous pourrez tricoter ce bonnet pour tout votre entourage! Ici, plusieurs fils différents ont été utilisés, notamment ma propre laine filée main. Je vous invite à utiliser vos restes de laine. Un fil DK fonctionnerait également, si vous aimez un rendu moins dense (plus ajouré).
