Notes from the Designer:
Corner-to-corner (C2C) is such a fun technique to add to a crocheter’s stitch vocabulary. Once you learn the basics of construction – increasing, maintaining, and decreasing – you have the ability to make all kinds of modifications for unique and creative adaptations to any C2C pattern. For Fale, I began with the idea for a very simple C2C rectangle shawl, increased the hook size over what I’d normally use for this type of yarn, and added sections of lace during the color transitions to achieve an ethereal showpiece that can dress up or down.
* Click [here][6] to watch a video on Chandi's love of C2C items, and learn how to make this shawl.
* The sample used 1026 yds (938 m) total: Color A: 157 yds (144 m), Color B: 287 yds (262 m), Color C: 295 yds (270 m), Color D: 213 yds (195 m), and Color E: 74 yds (68 m).
* Color changes should be made by working new color as final loop of the last stitch of the second row of each lace section.
* A full block is a sl st, one ch 3, and three dcs. Full block sections have full blocks worked all the way across. Lace sections have full blocks on either end and ch 6s across the rest of the sets.
* For Rows 1–32, the number of block/lace sets per row will equal the row number (i.e., Row 4 = 4 full block sets). For Rows 32–102, there will be 32 block/lace sets across. Beginning at Row 104, the number of block/lace sets will reduce by one per row, down to one block on Row 134.
