Medusa Shawl

*When designing the Medusa shawl I was aiming at simple with a striking detail. But I wanted to keep it simple and manageable with people around and busy family times : I went for garter stitch with a lovely chunky cable reminiscent of a snake on the border.* The pattern is available in 2 versions : the 24 mini-skeins fade version or the 5-color version (with the Weekend advent or 5 fingering skeins sleeping in your stash). **For this pattern, it is particularly important to match gauge. This especially matters for yarn usage - knitting too loosely will use up more yarn, which could be critical as the leftovers are very minimal for this shawl.** YARN Artemis Yarns High twist fingering, 80% superwash merino wool 20% nylon 73 m / 79 yds per 20g skein. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 46 cm / 18’’ wide, 220 cm / 86,50’’ long. Measurements taken after blocking. Tapestry needle, 3 stitch markers, cable needle,
a locking progress keeper. GAUGE 
**Garter stitch** : 21 sts & 30 rows = 10 cm / 4”, with 5 mm needles, with 2 strands of fingering-weight yarn held together. **Cable gauge** : The charted cable section measures 1,5” (4 cm) across and 4“ (7 cm) high, after blocking.
