I was born in Brisbane, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. For me, these socks evoke images of Brisbane’s Story Bridge in the heart of the city, with the chevron pattern echoing its cantilevered arch structure. This cuff down sock pattern is heaps of fun to knit, with an easy-to-remember pattern repeat that creates a striking pair of fingering weight (4ply) socks.
As with all the other patterns in my Australian City Sock Collection, there are cuff and heel options so you can build your perfect sock, and this pattern includes instructions for the Fleegle Heel.
This pattern really shines in self-striping sock yarn but would also look great in a tonal or speckled yarn! I hope you have as much fun knitting these up as I did.
I hope this pattern fuels your love of sock knitting and inspires you to make many pairs of chevron-y socks.
This pattern has been tech edited and fully tested. I warmly welcome and feedback or questions about the pattern.
Happy making!
Kath xx
