Impact Dress

Its simple but polished stitch pattern allows the fitted, double leg slit silhouette to take centre stage. Choose between a square or v-neckline (or wear it with the scoop neckline in front instead!), and truly make this dress personalized to your wardrobe by tailoring the length, slit width and depth, and ease, for a garment that ticks all of your dream dress boxes. This pattern works best with any yarn weight, but DK or sport is recommended. Impact is constructed from two panels, a front and a back. Each panel is worked from the top down, with the neckline shape of your choice. Decreases are made for the waist, with optional waist ties being worked into the back panel, and increases are made to shape the hip section, using your gauge swatch to calculate the frequency and amount of increases. The skirt section is worked to your desired length, with partial rows worked to accommodate for the decorative overlapping edging on the leg slits. After both panels are worked, they are seamed together up the side, creating the straps in the process. The neckline edging is worked, finally followed by the overlapping leg slit edging using a join-as-you-go ribbing technique.
