Plain Cardigan light is a simple cardigan in stockinette stitch. The cardigan is perfect as an extra layer. Plain Cardigan light is suited for light and airy yarn types, that allow the hems and edges to roll neatly. The cardigan is shown in Isager Soft Fine and in 2 strands of silk mohair. Measurements of the cardigan Bust circumference: (99) 106 (113) 121 (128) 136 (142) 150 (156) 164 cm (39) 41.75 (44.5) 47.75 (50.5) 53.5 (56) 59 (61.5) 64.5 inches Length*: (50) 51 (52) 54 (55) 57 (58) 60 (61) 62 cm (19.75) 20 (20.5) 21.25 (21.75) 22.5 (22.75) 23.5 (24) 24.5 inches Yarn, lime Isager Soft Fine (63% alpaca, 26% silk, 11% yak, 25 g = 150 m) Col. 35: (150) 150 (175) 175 (200) 200 (200) 200 (225) 225 g Yarn, light grey Sandnes Tynn Silk Mohair (57% mohair, 28% silk, 15% wool, 25 g = 212 m). Gauge, Sandnes Tynn Silk Mohair 20 sts x approx. 29 rows in stockinette stitch with 2 strands = 10 x 10 cm on 4,5 mm needles [4 x 4 on US7 needles]. Construction notes First, the top of the back is knitted with increases to shape the slanted shoulders, then you continue back and forth to the end of the armhole. Each side of the front is knitted separately until the end of the sleeve opening. Then back and fronts are finished in one piece. Stitches are picked up along the sleeve openings. The sleeves are shaped with short rows and then worked with decreases. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckline. Size guide Plain Cardigan light is intended to have a positive ease of approx. 18-28 cm [7-11”], depending on how loosely fitting you want it to be. It is shown here with a positive ease of 23 cm [9“]. Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the widest part of your upper body). Then look at the measurements given at the beginning of the pattern (these are the finished measurements of the cardigan). Positive ease is the difference between your personal measurement and the cardigan's measurement. For example, if your bust circumference is 94 cm [37”] a size M would provide you with a positive ease of 27 cm [10.75”] (121 cm – 94 cm = 27 cm) [47.75” - 37” = 10.75”]. *The length is measured at the center back, excl. the neckline.
