Fairy Dust Mosaic

**Overlay Mosaic Crochet** Fairy Dust was originally designed as a CAL (Crochet ALong) in Summer 2024. As the CAL is now over, the various separate files for the individual CAL parts have been removed, and replaced with the complete pattern in a single file (in a choice of English or Dutch). ____________________________________________________________________ Inspired by childhood memories of the Flower Fairies paintings by Cicely Mary Barker, Fairy Dust is an 8-part CAL, worked using overlay mosaic crochet, and finished off with a beautiful envelope border. *It does not require any slanted stitches, nor mid-row colour changes, making it ideal for all levels of expertise, including* ***beginners to mosaic crochet.*** If you are unfamiliar with mosaic crochet or the envelope border, don’t worry, they are much easier to do than they look, and step by step instructions are given. **You will only be using 1 colour for each row.** The pattern includes clear, marked charts, full written instructions and lots of helpful photos. It is written for a single size (197 sts x 240 rows), and colour packs are available for this size (for further details see photos). You can adjust the length of your project by repeating your favourite parts, or skipping others… I have even created a new sparkly gauge swatch for this CAL, which you can add to your project if you wish! Finished measurements will vary, depending on which yarn you are using. Gauge swatch is included in the pattern Introduction, measurements as below: * Stylecraft Special DK (Pixie, Elf and Sprite): Completed swatch measures 10.5 cm (wide) x 12.5 cm (high) using 4mm hook. * Stylecraft Impressions Aran / Bellissima DK (Nymph): Completed swatch measures 11.5 cm (wide) x 14 cm (high) using 4.5mm hook. You can also combine Fairy Dust with any of my other 48-stitch repeat mosaic crochet designs, including Meow!, Woof!, March Hare, Woodland Trail, Flora’s Fauna and Letitia’s Garden.
