This sock is our love letter to Toronto AKA The Big Smoke. It is a collaboration with Deborah of Yarn Indulgences to celebrate the first Knit City festival that is being held in the heart of Toronto. The fun circular motifs look like puffs of smoke or clouds and is very easy to knit. You’ll love to knit and wear these socks! I love working with Deborah's Sock Marl base! The strong horizontal stripes that come from the black strand in the yarn is very fun to manipulate & work with. The slip stitch design distorts the fabric to create the motifs and is only on the front of the sock. There is a purl stitch panel on the back of the sock to give a little bit of extra stretch. The sock is knit from the top down with a garter edged heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe. Small 56 stitch, (Medium 64 stitch, Large 72 stitch). 7 (8, 9) inches / 18 (20.25, 23) cm,approximate foot circumference. Instructions are written and charted. The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration because they got very creative using self-striping yarn and scrap yarns. Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Leanne, Kathryn, Darlene, Lorraine, Mara, Penny, Theresa, Alice, Amanda and Heather E for their feedback, their beautiful socks.
