Daffodil Bulb Vase

*The daffodil sprout children danced around the maypole so many times, that when they were finally finished their hats had bloomed!* The Daffodil Bulb Vase is the perfect spring project! Because the stem can be bent to any length and the flower can easily slide on and off you can make your daffodil grow! The bulb, the stem and the flower are all knit separately in the round on dpns. The bulb is knit from the bottom up. The roots are made by untwisting plies. The stem is knit in a tube and a pipe cleaner added to keep it stiff. To add the daffodil, bend over the top of the stem and insert it into the back of your flower. Yarn: This pattern works for both sock and worsted weight yarn. I used Fleece and Harmony’s Point Prim Sock & Patons Classic Wool Worsted. For roots, pick yarn that has a good crimp once its plies are untwisted.
