**This is a leftie-friendly knitting pattern.**
The Go With The Flowers Socks are a pattern that is quite nice for getting into colorwork without having to knit a whole sock in colorwork. Even if you are a more experienced color work knitter, these are fun to knit up.
They are perfect for those spring days where it isn't really warm yet, but you want to rock cropped jeans.
These socks look good in a variety of color combinations. Head to the projects to see what color combinations the test knitters chose.
Pattern Details
---------------
The socks are knit top down on 2.25 mm (US 1) needles with a short ribbing section before starting the colorwork pattern. The colorwork pattern is provided as a chart.
The Go With The Flowers Socks also feature a shadow wrap heel.
The heel can be exchanged for any other heel type if preferred.
When buying this pattern, you will receive two separate PDFs. One includes the instructions for left-handed knitters, the other the "regular"/right-handed instructions. Both include links to various youtube videos to aid you in understanding how to knit colorwork, trap floats and knit the shadow wrap heel.
The pattern includes modification options for the cuff and the heel so that you can achieve the best fit possible.
**Suggested Needle Size**
2.25 mm (US1) needle
The pattern is suitable for both dpns/sock needles and circular needles (Magic Loop method).
**Yardage**
For the CC, you need about 20 - 27 (25 - 50 (25 - 50) (30 - 50) m.
For the MC you need about 154 - 275 m.
The MC meterage/yardage is not only based on the size you chose, but also depends on the following aspects:
* your shoe size/foot length
* whether you chose a modification option (less yardage/meterage)
* whether you add additional rows after the colorwork pattern to add length to the leg (6 rows in the main color are already included in the instructions) (more yardage/meterage)
Especially for the larger sizes (3 and 4) you might need more than one 50 g ball of yarn. **Stash busting tip:** You could use the CC yarn to knit the heel and toes in to make sure a 50 g ball of MC yarn is enough.
*I was able to knit a size 3 in shoe size 41 with both fit modifications with 49,5 g/208 m of MC yarn.*
**Gauge**
34 sts x 46 rnds = 10cm / 4 inches in stockinette and colorwork pattern in the round after blocking
*Personally, I am not the biggest fan of knitting a gauge swatch in the round, so I usually just start knitting the sock pattern for a few rows to see if it matches the given gauge.*
