This trio of moody and textured socks is my love letter to the wild and stormy late winter/early spring here in the North Woods. The collection is also a collab with Marissa of Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co. There are three patterns included: **Lightning Socks** - Rhythmic 2 x 2 ribbing with an engaging, lightning inspired cabled cuff, contrast toe/heel **Deluge Socks** - Angular cables and twisted stitches....you can see the rain pelting against the trees. **Thunderhead Socks** - A storm is coming, increases and decreases create this swirling, fun texture This collection is constructed cuff down. The skill level is not beginner, but I found after one repeat of the pattern for each sock, they all easily became TV knitting. **Skills Required** German Twisted cast on, working in the round, knit, purl, slipping stitches, increasing, decreasing, twisted stitches, cable knitting, reading charts, Kitchener stitch. **Materials** Sample Yarn Used: **Lightning Socks** 1 x 100 g/437 yds, Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co., Enemies to Lovers Fingering, 85% SW Extrafine Merino/15% Nylon, in the Summer Storm colourway (MC), and 1 x 20 g/87 yds mini skein in Squall (CC). **Deluge Socks** 1 x 100 g/437 yds, Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co., Enemies to Lovers Fingering, 85% SW Extrafine Merino/15% Nylon, in the Downpour colourway (MC), and 1 x 20 g/87 yds mini skein in Drizzle (CC). **Thunderhead Socks** 1 x 100 g/437 yds, Fantasy Fibers Yarn Co., Enemies to Lovers Fingering, 85% SW Extrafine Merino/15% Nylon, in the Raging Tempest colourway (MC), and 1 x 20 g/87 yds mini skein in Cumulonimbus (CC). **Yardage**: 300 (350, 410, 460) yds/274 (320, 375, 420) m TOTAL fingering weight yarn. Yardage is an estimate and is impacted by yarn used, knitter’s gauge, length of sock foot and/or leg knitted. **Suggested Needles:** 2.5 mm/US 1.5, 80 cm/32” length for magic loop, OR 2 x 40 cm/16” long for the two-circular method, OR 2.5 mm/US 1.5 double pointed needles OR size needed to obtain gauge. Darning needle.
