Note: The entire sweater is worked with two strands of yarn, 1 of each quality. Wash and block the swatch before measuring the gauge. Make sure the gauge is the same in width (22 sts in 10 cm / 4 inches), whether you knit in single colored stockinette stitch, structure pattern, or colorwork pattern. Size guide Terracotta Sweater is designed to have approx. 20-28 cm [8-11”] of positive ease. Picture show a sweater with approx. 25 cm [10”] of positive ease, meaning the sweater is shown on a model with a bust circumference that is 25 cm [10 “] smaller than the sweater's bust circumference. Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the largest part of your upper body). Then look at the measurements at the beginning of the pattern (these are the finished measurements of the sweater). Positive ease is the difference between your personal measurement and the sweater's measurement. For example, if your bust circumference is 94cm [37”], a size S/M will give you a positive ease of 26 cm [10”] (120 cm – 94 cm = 26 cm). [47.25”- 37” = 10.25”] Construction Terracotta Sweater is worked from the top down. First, work the upper part of the back piece from the slanted shoulders down to the bottom of the armhole. Then, pick up stitches for the upper part of the front piece along the slanted shoulders on the back piece. The slanted shoulders of the front piece are shaped with short rows. Afterwards, shape the neckline, and the two sides of the front are joined and worked down to the bottom of the armhole. Once the upper part of both the back and front pieces are completed, the two sections are joined, and the body is worked in the round on a circular needle. Then, stitches are picked up along the armhole, and the sleeve is worked in the round, from the top down. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline, and the neckband is worked and folded down.
