Chain-4 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated. Chain-1 at beginning of row does not count as first stitch unless otherwise stated. To increase width, increase starting chain in multiples of 18. To increase length, add rows in multiples of 3. Weave in ends as work progresses.
