*Mittums-mittens* are worked in the round starting with Tubular Cast On for the cuff, the thumb has an arched gusset. The extra long folded cuff provides extra warmth for the long, cold winter days. The sample mittens (size M/L) were knitted with Schachenmayr Regia Premium Merino Yak, (58% Merino, 28% Nylon, 14% Yak, 400 m / 437 yds per 100 g) in colourways 7510 Beige Meliert and 7512 Anthrazit and used 36 g of each colour. An excellent alternative is Cascade Yarns Heritage (75% Merino, 25% Nylon, 400 m / 437 yds per 100 g). An excellent alternative is Cascade Yarns 220 Cascade (100% Wool, 201 m / 219.8 yds per 100 g).
