TECHNIQUES German Short Row Mattress Stitch (Optional) Tubular Bind Off Fold and Sew Neckband Make Crochet Chains (Optional) CHOOSING A SIZE For a more comfortable fit, choose the size that gives you 10-13cm/4-5” ease. For something fitted that is comfortably snug to wear under your coat, select the size that gives you 5-9.5cm/2-3.75”. Measure your bust circumference, add your desired ease amount, and choose the size close to that number. SWEATER CONSTRUCTION • The compound raglan construction is used to create a curved raglan line, meaning the sleeves and body do not always increase at the same rate. • The sweater is worked top down in the round from the neckline to the underarms, then the sleeves and body are worked separately. • The German Short Row method is used to shape the neckline. (There is a short instruction on converting this to the Wrap & Turn method for those who prefer that.) • Neckband stitches are picked up directly from the neckline or the crochet chains made beforehand. (See PHOTO SUPPORT) • There are built-in purl stitch faux seams at each side of the body and in the sleeves that can be left as they are or seamed. (You can download separate instructions to add faux seams to raglans.) The white and pink sample (Size 2, 13cm/5” positive ease) is knit with: 1 strand of Knitting For Olive Heavy Merino (Worsted) in Cream 1 strand of Suri Alpaca (lace weight) from Explorer Knits & Fibers in Irish Heather colorway.
