The Cove Neck Cowl is worked across from one spiral end, widening, then becoming narrower, finishing up at the other end. My model was made using DK weight yarn - you could use worsted to make the cowl larger. I closed mine with a 1 inch wood button. It is a part of the Paumanok Cowls eBook, along with the Caumsett Cowl and the Cutchogue Cowl. Get all three in the eBook for $5.
