Building Blocks was the Westknits Mystery Shawl KAL 2016. *Choose four colors of fingering or sport weight yarn to knit this large angular shawl. Textured bands with garter stitch, two-color brioche, knit-n-slide, and stockinette stitch decorate the unique shape. The beginning is very small and quickly grows into a long wingspan. Solid or speckled yarns work beautifully with this pattern!* **Sizes** Small (Medium, Large) Sample shown in size Large. **Finished Measurements** 76 (86, 98)" / 193 (218, 249)cm wingspan length, 20 (22.5, 25)" / 51 (57, 64)cm from CO to BO edge. **Yarn** Heavy fingering/sport weight **Yardage** Color A - 400yds / 366m Color B - 400yds / 366m Color C - 400yds / 366m Color D - 400yds / 366m I recommend getting the full yardage amounts to be safe regardless of which size you knit so you have the most flexibility. **Shown in** Hedgehog Fibres Sporty Merino (100% Merino Wool; 400yds / 366m per 100g) Color A - Oracle Color B - Sorry Not Sorry Color C - Where's My Bike? Color D - Fly Sporty Merino is a custom spun yarn by Hedgehog Fibres available exclusively through Stephen & Penelope for 2016. Sporty Merino is a non-superwash merino with incredible spring and bounce. Due to the fluffy voluminous nature of the soft merino, it feels like a heavy fingering/sport weight yarn even though it has 400yds / 366m per 100g. The stitches bloom and fill space more than slick superwash yarns resulting in a more cohesive and “woolly” fabric. Sporty Merino produces amazing crisp stitch definition. You can also use standard fingering weight yarns for this project. **Needles** 47” / 120cm US 5 / 3.75mm circular or size needed to obtain gauge.
