The shawl is knit with one or two skeins of luxury yarn – in a different weight for each size, and is the perfect travel and holiday knitting project. A simple yet effective lace pattern means this project can be packed alongside your craft magazines and chick-lit beach reading. It drapes beautifully across the shoulders and the picot bind off gives a polished finish like the stones on Brighton Beach. Instructions are written in my percentage checklist style. The Pebble Beach Shawlette has grown up into a Shawl! The updated pattern now includes two more sizes - medium and large! *NOTE: There are two files when you purchase this pattern - the original "Shawlette" and the "Shawl" file which contains all three sizes.* There aren't any charts included because the lace is simple and easy to memorise. **Size** Small, Medium, Large **Finished Measurements** *Small* Approximately 140cm (55") diameter across straight top edge 38cm (15") neck to bottom edge *Medium* Approximately 180cm (71") diameter across straight top edge 45cm (18") neck to bottom edge *Large* Approximately 200cm (79") diameter across straight top edge 51cm (20") neck to bottom edge **Yarn** *Small* Kettle Yarn Co Westminster [50% baby camel, 50% silk, 400m/437yds per skein], 1 x 100g skein, Colourway: Gold Rush The Uncommon Thread, BFL Fingering [100% superwash British Blue Faced Leicester, 400m/437yds per skein], 1 x 100g skein, Colourway: Zitouni Or 1 x 100g skein of sock/ fingering weight yarn totalling approximately 400m/437yds *Medium* The Uncommon Thread, Merino Lace [100% superwash merino, 600m/660yds per skein], 1 x 100g skein, Colourway: Mermaid Or 1 x 100g skein of heavy lace weight yarn totalling approximately 600m/660yds (Note: The sample used approximately 75g of the skein so you may be able to knit piece with a slightly smaller yardage – approximately 500m) *Large* The Uncommon Thread, Heavenly Lace [70% baby alpaca, 20% silk, 10% cashmere 800m/880yds per skein], 1 x 100g skein, Colourway:Attic Room Or 1 x 100g skein of lace weight yarn totalling approximately 800m/880yds (Note: The sample used approximately 75g of the skein so you may be able to knit piece with a slightly smaller yardage – approximately 650m) **Needles** All sizes 4mm (US 6), 100cm (40") long circular needles (or size to obtain gauge) **Notions** Tapestry needle **Gauge** *Small* 18 sts/28 rows = 10cm (4") in eyelet lace stitch after blocking *Medium and Large* 20 sts/32 rows = 10cm (4") in eyelet lace stitch after blocking Note: Gauge is not critical for this shawl. Gauge may vary depending on the yarn and how it responds to blocking.
