The original 1950's pattern was published by Monarch Yarn as cute n'cozy shawl. It may have used a US 8 needle. Gauge is not known (and is not critical unless you want an exact 60" square.) --- This is Marianne Knorborg's translation of the shawl used by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark recently for bringing both of her newborns home from the hospital. The original is a Shetland lace design.
