*Original and best…* The classic granny square works wonderfully to create a patchwork effect in this beautiful vintage style blanket that could be straight from Granny’s attic. **Pattern Notes** A full written pattern for my Classic Grannie Square together with joining information and border instructions. **Skill Level** *Beginner* A great next step on from the classic granny square, a simple blanket and border using basic stitches and a decreasing stitch. **Yarn** 23 balls of Stylecraft Special DK in 17 colours 100g / 322 yards (294 m) 100% acrylic DK/8ply yarn 1 ball each of: Aster (1003), Cloud Blue (1023), Raspberry (1023), Copper (1029), Teal (1062), Mocha (1064), Meadow (1065), Grape (1067), Soft Peach (1240), Gold (1709), Storm Blue (1722) 2 balls each of: Sherbert (1034), Pale Rose (1080), Claret (1123), Shrimp (1132), Silver (1203), Sage (1725) *Yarn Substitutions* For a similar sized blanket, you’ll need approximately 7000 yards of your own choice of dk yarn.
