Align mitts

**UPDATE** The Align Mitts have grown up and are now available as a for-sale pattern also. The updated version includes a men's size, a tutorial for a reinforced hem to keep that St st from rolling, and is fully written in pattern format with instructions suitable for using DPNs, circs, or magic loop. [Get the full pattern version NOW>>][1] (ed. note: link redirects to gaming site.) these gloves are the first i’ve made for MYSELF! which is really, a very big deal. chances are as you begin to knit you’ll think i’ve gone all but completely bonkers because they will looks small. like, toddler small. but fear not. i swear to you they will stretch like granny’s waist band. the ribbing is to blame for this and is also the beauty behind the perfectly snug fit. these gloves can be knit by anyone who can increase and work in the round. they’re easy enough and simple enough and absolutely chic. if you’re up for it, make them bigger for the man in your life! just cast on more stitches and remember to work 1x1 rib for half of them and knit the other half. you’ll have to increase a few more in the gusset, too but i think it’ll be worth it. these would be an excellent gift for a fella. In order to help stop the edge of the mitt from rolling on the St st side, cast on using long tail method and one size smaller needles than what you need for gauge. You can, of course, work ribbing all the way around at the cuff also OR you could use a reinforced crochet hem. I’ve included a tutorial for this and used it in the sample mitts shown.
