Classic Mittens No. 615

Available in three variations: Classic Mittens--Use instructions as given. Striped Mittens--Use same instructions, working 2 rounds or 2 rows of each of 2 or more colors. Stop-and-Go Mittens--Use same instructions with the design for [Children's Safety Mittens No. 637][1] Can be adapted to fit smaller child or larger adult by decreasing or increasing amount of cuff stitches and adapting the numbers throughout the pattern. Instructions are given for working with 3 DPNs or 2 straight needles. Easy to adapt to Magic Loop method with circular needles. Charted snowman included in pattern for adding decoration to child sizes as desired. This is a versatile basic mitten pattern in many sizes and is easy to follow. The left column has instructions matched with the size measurement numbers in the right column. The instructions call for ounces of yarn per size, not yardage. Tip: acquire 2 measurements to properly size this pattern. 1) length of the thumb from where it joins the index finger to the tip, 2) length of hand from wrist to tip of longest finger.
