Stitches are put on hold at each underarm while the shaped front and back yokes are worked flat. Shoulders are seamed, then sleeves are worked top-down from a combination of picked up stitches and held stitches at the underarms. Throughout pattern, phrases like “Left Sleeve” and “Right Shoulder” always refer to the left or right side of the body as the garment is worn.
