V-stitch = (dc, ch 1, dc) in same stitch. hdc in the 3rd loop = Look at the top of the stitch, and locate the sideways “V”, bend the stitch to look at the back*, and you should see another “V”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is called the 3rd loop. Back bar of sc – Instructions: Look at the back of the stitch and locate the short bar that runs horizontal. Work all stitches for that section into this bar. FPdtr = front post double treble crochet. Wrap working yarn around hook 3 times, pull through 2 loops 4 times. st/sts = stitch/stitches sp/sps = space/spaces prev = previous sk = skip **Measurements:** Half the circumference of your calf, by 6" tall (without lace), or 7” tall (with lace).
