A palate cleansing knit to slow down in! A sheer mohair neckline provides the perfect opportunity to play with colour - go matchy matchy with your main yarn (I couldn't resist hot pink with more hot pink), pair with a contrast, or stripe the mohair for a jazzy blended edge. **YARN A:** worsted weight yarn, approx 936 (1000; 1069; 1122; 1211) [1279; 1364; 1440; 1505] metres / 1020 (1090; 1165; 1223; 1320) [1394; 1487; 1570; 1641] yards. Sample shown in Lily Kate Makes AXIS Worsted (*90% merino, 10% suri alpaca, 100m per 50g skein*) in shade Neutrino. If using this yarn, you will need 10 (10; 11; 12; 13) [13; 14; 15; 16] skeins. **YARN B:** laceweight yarn, between 45 and 80m. Sample shown in Isager Silk Mohair in shade Hot Pink. **GAUGE:** 18 sts and 24 rows to 4 inches/ 10 cm in stocking stitch in Yarn A, blocked. Suggested size 5 mm. **NEEDLES & NOTIONS:** 5mm circular needles of length 24” / 60cm or 30” / 80cm, depending on size 4.5mm and 5mm needle(s) of your preferred length for working small circumferences in the round (ie. Finished bust: 37 (40.5; 45; 48.5; 53) (56.5; 61; 64.5; 69) inches / 94 (103; 114; 123; 134) (143; 155; 164; 175) cm. **Construction:** the Slow Down Sweater is worked from the top down. Stitches are cast on across the upper back and worked flat down to the armhole then set aside. Stitches are picked up along the shoulders to work the fronts separately before joining at the bottom of the neck opening. The main body is worked in the round without shaping. Short rows are used to gently lower the back hem. A sheer neckband is picked up and knitted in laceweight yarn. Stitches are picked up around the armhole openings to work the sleeves in the round. Short rows are again used to create shallow sleeve caps, which improves the fit of the drop shoulder. Gradual decreases are worked throughout the sleeve, before more rapid decreases are used to gather the cuff. Both the cuffs and hem are finished with rib and a small amount of sheer laceweight.
