Winter Patchwork

Winter Patchwork is just that; a patchwork combination of all things winter! Hate dealing with those ends? This pattern can be made as one single piece instead of individual panels. This is an advanced beginner pattern and includes a guide on mosaic crochet. It also includes tutorial photos on how to make the envelope border, as well as how to do the diagonal stitches required for this piece (and joining instructions)! The PDF pattern is written in U.S. terminology and includes the full written pattern in a row-by-row format, as well as the ticked graphs. The written format is in a new, easier to read format! It has instructions on how to make the project as one piece or as separate pieces and joined together. Also included is a PDF of enlarged graphs and a printer-friendly PDF that allows you to print only the necessities for the pattern. I chose to make mine with a 5mm hook and worsted weight (4 weight) yarn. The border was made with a 4mm hook. I used Red Heart yarn (and one Big Twist) in many different colors, all listed in the pattern. The background color used is Aran. Using different weighted yarns and hook sizes will result in a different dimension to your project. It is perfectly fine to work with what you are comfortable with; just know you may need to add more repeats (or remove some) to suit your needs. The final size of my piece, using the individual panel and join method, is 52" wide by 62" tall. Each panel will add approximately 14” in width and 17.25” in length. The estimated size of the single piece format is 43" wide by 53" tall.
