*This beautiful blanket features a main color framing several contrast color pops for the smooth waves. Paint with a palette of DK or worsted weight yarns. The pattern is written for two sizes with notes on how to customize the size. Gather colorful yarns from your stash or treat yourself to some cozy new wool from your local yarn shop and cast on!* **Sizes** Small (Large) Shown in Large size. The Small size is good for a small lap blanket. The Large size is ideal for a throw for your couch. **Finished Measurements** 78 (78)″ / 198 (198)cm long, 42 (60)″ / 107 (152)cm wide. Measurements taken after blocking. The length is customizable. **Yarn** DK or Worsted weight **Yardage** Approximately 2250 (3180)yds / 2057 (2098)m total MC - 1050 (1500)yds / 960 (1372)m CC - 1200 (1680)yds / 1097 (1536)m approximate total for all CC’s You will need approximately 150 (210)yds / 137 (192)m of each CC if you are using 8 CC’s **Shown in** West Wool Tandem (90% Falkland Merino, 10% Texel; 250yds / 229m per 100g skein) MC - Greykjavik CC1 - West Wool Tandem in Glass CC2 - De Rerum Natura Gilliatt in Lagon CC3 - Malabrigo Rios in Kris CC4 - Susan Crawford – A Room of my Own Barn DK in Dungarees CC5 - Malabrigo Rios in Azules CC6 - De Rerum Natura Gilliatt in L’Heure Bleue CC7 - De Rerum Natura Gilliatt in Plume CC8 - La Bien Aimée Corrie Worsted in Amege **Needles** US 7 / 4.5mm circular in 40″ / 100cm length or size needed to obtain gauge **Notions** Tapestry needle **Gauge** 18 sts & 32 rows = 4″ / 10cm in 4 rows garter stitch + 4 rows stockinette stitch after blocking **Customize the Size** You can knit the blanket as long as you want by knitting more or fewer stripes. If you want to customize the width, then add or subtract sts in multiples of 32 sts when you cast on. For example, after you work the first WS row, there are 220 [316] sts. If you want a smaller blanket then aim for a stitch count of 156 or 188 sts at the end of the first WS row. Then, you will be ready for Row 1 with your custom stitch count for a smaller blanket. You can also add stitches to your cast on in multiples of 32 if you want an extra wide blanket. **Color Note** The sample features 1 MC with 8 CC’s. You can use as many CC’s as you like. If you use 8 or more CC’s, you will only need one ball or skein (100g) of each color. **Westknits Workshops** Venture into the world of Westknits with my series of online workshops.
