You can see the work of my wonderful testers over on Instagram using the hashtag #schoolrunmittens **Sizes**: Toddler Child (Adult 1 2 3) **Circumference**: 12.5 15 (18.5 20 22.5)cm / 5 6 (7.25 8 9)in **Gauge**: 22 sts x 32 rows per 10cm/4in on 4mm needles in the round with fingering/4ply held double **Yarn**: Filcolana Arwetta held single for cuffs, double for hand 20 30 (40 50 60)g / 84 126 (168 210 252)metres **Needles**: hand: 4mm circular needles or dpns or suitable needles to obtain gauge cuffs: 3mm circular needles or dpns or a needle 1mm smaller than needle used for the hands. **Accessories**: 3 stitch markers, embroidery needle, scissors **Fit** Designed with minimal ease. Choose a size that is closest to your hand circumference. For a tighter mitten go down a size, for a looser mitten go up a size. **Construction** Knit in the round and from the wrist up, both mittens are worked the same. The folded picot cuffs are worked with one strand of fingering on smaller needles and the hand is worked with two strands held double on larger needles. This means your mitten will be an equal thickness all the way through. If using the suggested yarn, you can pull a strand from the inside and outside of the ball. You could easily substitute the double strand of fingering for a single strand of DK for a contrasting hand, but it is important to still use fingering for the cuffs. The thumb gusset is worked with the hand and the thumb stitches are put on hold and worked after the rest of the mitten. Measurements are given in cm / inches.
